Summer Internship - Consumer Sales and Customer Service - Rental Department

Summary:

Come join our team of experts providing industry leading service and solutions to our customers. We pride ourselves on Progress, Partnership, Learning and Diversity. Our Penske Consumer Specialist Internship will provide valuable industry knowledge through training, hands on experience within multiple skillsets and engagement in projects that directly affect our business initiatives. In this role your primary focus is assisting with our Consumer Rental business.

Responsibilities and Incentives:

-      Utilize communication skills and handle incoming inquiries while providing a legendary experience
-      Utilize negotiation skills to convert qualified customer sales leads through problem solving and critical thinking
-      Build relationships, interacting with both internal and external customers of different background. You will communicate with all levels of our organization
-      Responsible for being a self-starter in order to achieve monthly sales goals
-      Be engaged in team meetings and training sessions to gain the most out of the experience
-      Bring high level of engagement and competitiveness to the workplace each day
-      Maintain a high level of productivity throughout your scheduled day
-      At the end of the program, complete an internship project that will help with improving customer initiatives
-      Willingness to learn and contribute to the various roles that make our team successful
-      Ability to earn unlimited commission in addition to your hourly wage, for sales efforts

 Schedule:

-      We are here to help our customers and are open 7 days a week from 7AM-12AM eastern time (only closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas). We are looking for college students who would be able to work flexible shifts during our operating hours.
-      As part of your regular schedule, you will need to work a Saturday or a Sunday. If you want to work both, great! 
-      You are scheduled a 30-minute lunch/dinner break and two 15-minute breaks daily 
 
Training: 
 
-      2-week e-learning platform that is instructor led with hands on training
-      Team coaching sessions and mentor support 
-      You must successfully complete this program 
 
Qualifications: 
 
-      High school diploma or equivalent required, and Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred 
-      Possess integrity and high moral code to make ethical business decisions
-      Ability to type, listen and think of an appropriate solution to your customer's needs all while keeping up a lively verbal exchange. And you'll need to be fast – customers don't want to wait 
-      Displays enthusiasm, great voice tone and empathy 
-      Ability to adapt in any situation while remaining positive and calm when faced with difficult obstacles
-      Ability to successfully follow a sales strategy to overcome customer objections and maximize revenue 
-      Basic math, logic, geography and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to follow specific instructions are also required 
-      Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job 
-      Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
